James Dixon Parrott

James Dixon Jim Parrott, age 55, a resident of 2834 Poplar Creek Road, died Thursday, June 06, 2013, at Duke University Hospital.Born in Vance County on June 17, 1957, he was the son of the late James A. Parrott, Jr. and Lucy Wiggins Parrott.He was formerly employed as a welder and was medically retired.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Grissom Parrott of the home; one daughter, Harley Morgan Parrott of the home; one son, Dixon Cameron Parrott of the home; and one brother, Ronald Thomas Parrott and wife, Mitzi of Henderson; nephew Will Parrott and six other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one nephew Jasper Parrott.
The family will receive friends Saturday night from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the Parrott home place at 2840 Poplar Creek Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Greg Reese, Tommy Breedlove, Dean Guin, Kevin Guin, Fleet Crews, David Parham, Ray Parham, and Mike Smith.
