Henderson- James Patrick Pat Reese, age 71, a resident of Henderson passed away peacefully Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Brantwood Nursing Facility in Oxford with family by his side following a brief illness. Born on March 24, 1944 in Vance County, he was the son of the late James David Reese and Beulah Short Reese.He graduated from Townsville High School and was a member of Rock Spring Baptist Church in Townsville.He spent over 52 years working in the gas and oil business; his last 25 years were spent with Bowers and Burrows.Pat loved and missed his customers dearly after his illness enabled him to work.He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed NASCAR racing and Carolina basketball.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:00 PM in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Gary Brummitt and Rev. John Yount.Burial will follow in the Rock Spring Baptist Church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Campbell Reese of the home; two daughters, Elissa R. Burleson and husband Charles of Bakersville and Kimberly R. Foland and husband Paul of Ramseur; six grandchildren, Clayton Roberts and wife Jessica, Mikala F. Joyce and husband Henry, Savannah Burleson, Jamison Burleson, Peyton Foland and Gregory Foland; two great granddaughters, Addyson and Ansley Roberts; a great grandson, Samuel Joyce; a sister, Ruth R. Hale and husband Davis of Henderson; three brothers, Marvin Reese and wife Sharon, Morris Reese and wife Marie both of Henderson and Lawrence Reese and wife Sandra of Asheboro; and his faithful canine Reesie.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Shag Reese anda sister, Frances R. Propst.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at J.M. White Funeral Home from 1:30 till 3:00 PM Saturday and at other times at the home, 11110 Hwy 39N Henderson, 27537.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Rock Spring Baptist Church, 171 Rock Spring Church Rd, Henderson, NC 27537.
