HENDERSON- James McMillin Stevenson, 81, a resident of Henderson, diedSunday, November 5, 2017 at Rex Hospital.Born in Vance County onOctober 18, 1936, Jim was the son of the late George Edward Stevenson, Jr. and Sue Belle McMillin Stevenson.He was a Veteran of the United States Army and an architect.
A graveside funeral will be held Thursday at 2pm at Elmwood Cemetery by Rev. Margaret Wilson-Stayton.
James is survived by two nephews, Edward Stevenson and John Stevenson; his long time girlfriend, Claire Catherwood of Henderson; and her sons, Grady Catherwood and Kyle Catherwood.He was preceded in death by his brother George Edward Stevenson, III.
The family will receive friends following the service at Elmwood on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a church of ones choice.
