STAFFORD, VA-James Napoleon Thompson, Jr., age 73, a resident of 11 Vista Woods Road in Stafford, VA, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at his home.Born on July 15, 1938 in Warren County, he was the son of the late James Napoleon Thompson, Sr. and Earline Hayes Thompson.James retired from the Metro Transit Authority in Washington, DC and Alexandria, Va. areas where he was a Station Attendant.He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, The Fraternal Order Of The Eagles in Alexandria, VA, and served in the North Carolina and Virginia National Guard.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 at Zion United Methodist Church in Warren County by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Lane Pendergrass Thompson of the home; one daughter, Debbie Faye Stark of Bealeton, VA; one son, James Kevin Thompson of Stafford, VA; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Bobby Lee Thompson, Sr. of Butner, NC and Charles Edward Thompson, Sr. of Epsom.He was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Sue Thompson and Terry Lane Thompson.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Zion United Methodist Church and at other times they will be at the home of James and Diana Pendergrass at 1941 Bobbitt Road, Kittrell, NC.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Rick Stark, Ricky Lee Stark, Jr., Stephen Stark, Cory Stark, Jake Orlikoff, and Christian James Thompson.
Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home of Henderson, NC.
