Janet Abbott Newhouse, 74, of Daniel Harris Road, died Thursday, February 13, 2020 at her home.Born in Vance Co on May 28, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Floyd H. Abbott and Bertha Roberson Abbott. Janet was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 18, 2020 at 2pm at Central Baptist Church by the Rev. Randy Mann. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by three sons, Roy Carlton Newhouse, Jr. (Crystal) of Henderson, Timothy Wayne Newhouse (Sherri) of Kingsport TN, and James Thomas "Jamie" Newhouse (April Smith) of Henderson; one sister, Barbara Twisdale ; three brothers Buster Abbott of Kittrell, Michael Abbott of Louisburg, and David Abbott of Henderson; eleven grandchildren, April N. Abbott (Chris), Cameron Newhouse, Emilee Newhouse, Samuel Newhouse, Tyler Newhouse, Frank Newhouse, Evy Newhouse, Mitchell Newhouse, Sean Newhouse, Brice Newhouse and Ryan Newhouse; six great grandchildren, Tanner Abbott, Emma Abbott, Lane Newhouse, Audrie Newhouse,Reagan Newhouse and Alleea Newhouse; and a daughter-in-law, Pam Newhouse.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Roy Carlton Newhouse Sr.; one son, Robert Earl Newhouse; one sister, Paulette A. Boyd; and two grandchildren, Autumn Newhouse and Brandon Newhouse.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 until 2pm at the fellowship hall at Central Baptist Church. At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cameron Newhouse, Chris Abbott, Ryan Newhouse, Frank Newhouse, Clay Hoyle, and Matt Abbott.
