HENDERSON- Janice Kearney Stovall, 71, of Edgewood Drive died Friday, June 4, 2021 at her home.Born in Vance County on February 9, 1950, she was the daughter of the late David Jones Kearney and Grace Wright Kearney.Janice was a 1968 graduate of Henderson High School, a 1972 graduate of Western Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in Education and was a member of ADK Sorority.She retired from E.M. Rollins School as assistant principal after 33 years of employment with the school system.She was a faithful member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church, serving as treasurer and choir director.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 7, 2021 at 2:00PM by Rev. Bradley Martin at Rehoboth United Methodist Church.
Janice is survived by her husband of more than 40 years, Jerry Evans Stovall of the home; her son, Daniel W. Stovall of the home; a sister, Donna K. Martin (Kyle) of Wake Forest; a brother, David A. Kearney (Wanda) of Henderson; her sister-in-law, Betty J. Stovall of Oxford; a niece, Ashley K. Bean (Mike); two nephews, Jon Adcock and Hunter Kearney; and four great nephews, Caleb Grissom, Christian Bean, Noah Bean and Levi Bean.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey B. Kearney.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Rehoboth United Methodist Church, c/o Vivian Wright, 1780 Old Watkins Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
The family will receive friends following the service at Rehoboth and at other times at the home.
