Janice Edwards Harp Watson

HENDERSON-Janice Edwards Harp Watson, 77, a resident of Waterfall Road, and a former resident of Peter Gill Road, died Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at her home. Born on July 16, 1947 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late William Henry “Biddie” Edwards and Mary Lee Smith Edwards, and was the widow of William Amos Watson, Jr. Janice was a member of Westwood Pentecostal Holiness Church and a member of the Adult Sunday School Class. She was a former Girl Scott Leader of Troop 849 in Henderson. Janice was a graduate of Atlantic Beauty School in Durham, and was owner of the former Janice Beauty Shop. Memorial services will be held Sunday May 4, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Westwood Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Daniel Blaskey and Rev. Bruce Beck. She is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Harp of Henderson; one son, Stephen Harp of Wake Forest; three grandchildren, Connor Harp, Bryce Harp, and Alexis Harp. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her cousin, Jerry Wayne Taylor who she considered her brother. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at Westwood Pentecostal Holiness Church and at other times at the home, 59 Waterfall Road in the Huntstone subdivision.
