HENDERSON-Janie Harper Brame, age 89, a resident of Kerr Lake Nursing & Rehab, and a former resident of Willowood Drive, died Thursday, January 31, 2013.Born in Nash County on August 19, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Russell Harper and Lessie Wilson Harper.She was a former sales clerk at J. C. Penney Co. and the former Faulkner Building & Supply Co.She was a member of West End Baptist Church, the Open Door Sunday School Class and The Katie Oakley Circle.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at West End Baptist Church by the Rev. Ralph E. McGowan and the Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn B. Dickerson and husband, Bill of Hope Mills and Susan B. Hart and husband, Robert of Knightdale; one sister, Frances H. Fogleman and husband, James of Greensboro; one brother, Sam Harper and wife, Decie of Henderson; five grandchildren, Preston Dickerson, Ashley Dickerson, Angela Dickerson, Stephanie Sheets, and Brandon Hart; seven great grandchildren, Brittany Dickerson, Blake Dickerson, Summer Dickerson, Amber Dickerson; Colton Dickerson, Britton Hart, and Taylor Hart; and one great-great grandchild, Hayden Dickerson.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Allen Brame; two sisters, Mary Priscilla H. Holmes and LaRue H. Lockemy; a brother, Gerald Harper; and three great grandchildren, Kayla Sheets, Cody Sheets, and Cambell Sheets.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM at West End Baptist Church.At other times they will be at the home of Sam and Decie Harper 1504 Peace Street, Henderson, NC 27536.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Preston Dickerson, Ashley Dickerson, and Brandon Hart. Also serving will be other family members Jim Fogleman, Allen Fogleman, Randy Lockemy, Jeff Harper, Rick Harper, John Allen, Morris Wilson,Glen Brame, and Jerry Sheets.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West End Baptist Church, Bus Fund, 619 Dabney Henderson, NC27563.
