HENDERSON-Janie Lester Edwards, 89, a resident of 680 Mabry Mill Road, died Tuesday, April 02, 2019, in a local nursing home.Born on November 12, 1929 in Warren County, she was the daughter of the late Jacob E. Lester and Cora Lee Mansfield Lester, and was the widow of George Carlton Edwards.Mrs. Edwards was a homemaker and a member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 am in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Tabitha Pate.Burial will be at Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by one son, George Michael Edwards (Pi Halcott) of Henderson; three daughters, Loraine Elliott of Henderson, Linda Krupp (Michael) of Titusville, Florida, and Susan Fuentes (Paul) of Swannanoa, NC; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucy Hope, Mary Harris, and Katie McGhinnis; one brother, Jacob Lester, Jr.; and one grandson Paul Elliott.
The family will receive friends Saturday prior to the service from 9:30 until 10:50 am at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
