OXFORD-Jean Hart Averette, 70, ofHicksboro Road, diedSunday, May 24, 2020 at Duke Regional Hospital. Born in Granville County on May 5, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Roy Cooper Hart and Helen Floyd Hart and was the widow of Michael C. Averette, Sr.She was an active member of Island Creek Baptist Church and the Milton Perkinson Sunday School Class.She was a pharmacy technician with Pharmacy Corp of America, formerly Mast Long Term Care.A private graveside service will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM by Rev. Johnny Yount and Rev. J. Marshall Neathery at Island Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Curtis Averette, Jr. and wife, Angie of Henderson, and Benjamin James Averette and wife, Anna of Creedmoor; three grandchildren, James Alexander Averetteand John Madison Averette of Henderson, and Charles Bernard Averette of Creedmoor; two sisters, Mary Langham of Maryville, TN and Delia Owens of Stovall; and a brother, Floyd Hart of Oxford.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Currin and Margaret Satterwhite; and two brothers, Dennis O'Brien and Roy Hart.
