Jeff Dickerson

KITTRELL-Jeffrey Small “Jeff” Dickerson, age 63, a resident of Rocky Ford Rd died Thursday, November 11, 2021 at his home. Born in Wayne County on January 19, 1958, he was the son of the late John Hillman Dickerson and Anne Small Dickerson. Jeff was a Veteran of the United States Marines. He was previously employed with EPES Transport and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Joanie Talley Dickerson of the home; two sons, Cameron Talley (Ashley) of Kittrell and Charles David Skeeter (Josh) of Raleigh; two sisters, Beth Hoyle (Mike) of Durham and Sarah Dickerson of Greenville; two brothers, John H. Dickerson, II (Nancy) of Wake Forest and William “Bill” Dickerson of Nashville, TN; nieces and nephews, Elisabeth Hoyle, Will Hoyle (Kerry), Meredith Wilkins (Scotty), Hill Dickerson (Amanda), Kathryn Coley (Cam), Patrick Dickerson (Stephanie), Lin Bunting (Ashley) and Jeffrey Bunting (Taylor). Funeral services will be held Monday, November 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at New Bethel Baptist Church by Rev. Jon Owens. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens. The family will receive friends following the service on Monday at Sunset Gardens. At other times they will be at the home. Serving as active pall bearers will be Will Hoyle, Hill Dickerson, Lin Bunting, Patrick Dickerson, Jeffrey Bunting, Steven Moss, Philip Moss, and Chad Moss. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the New Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Delores Woodard, 1312 Cheeks Quarter Road, Henderson, NC 27537. The family would like to give a special “Thank you” to Dr. Anne Mills Mathews, M. D. at Duke Asthma, Allergy, and Airway Center who treated Jeff and Joanie more like family than a patient, and a thank you to Kindred Hospice for their care.
