HENDERSON-Jerry Franklin Harris, age 64, a resident of 299 Flemingtown Road, died Friday, February 03, 2012, at his home.Born in Vance County on March 2, 1947, he was the son of the late Albert Harris and Effie Lassiter Harris.Mr. Harris was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War.He was an employee of Chex Truck Stop, and was a member of South Henderson Church Of God.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Gary Harper.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Shelvia Abbott Harris of the home; two daughters, Angela Phan of Wake Forest, NC and Sharon Casto of Warrenton, Virginia; two sons, Roger Lassiter of Cary, NC and Billy Lassiter of Warrenton, Virginia; two brothers, Jimmy Harris of Oxford, and Johnny Harris; and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at J. M. White Funeral Home..At other times they will be at the home at 299 Flemingtown Road in the Middleburg Community.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Morris Floyd, Billy Daniel, Wayne Clayton, Jimmy Spain, Danny Stevenson, and Rodney Stainback.
