HENDERSON-Jerry Wilson Butterbean Lassiter, age 61, a resident of 1854 S. Clearview Dr., died Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Born on March 30, 1950 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Hugh Madison Lassiter and Callie Mae Edwards Lassiter.Mr. Lassister was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War.He was medically retired from Dixie Grocery in Gillburg, and attended Harriett Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Tim Short.Burial will follow in the New Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Pegram Lassiter of the home; one daughter, Janice Gillespie of Henderson; one son, Adam Pegram of Henderson; one brother, Frank Hubba Lassiter of Henderson; two sisters, Janice Wynne and Rhonda Faulkner Lassiter, of Henderson; and six grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Lassiter.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until 2:00 pm prior to the service at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 1854 S. Clearview Drive.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Donnie Hoyle, Jr., A. J. Woodell, Terry Roberson, Gene Stokes, Steve Pierce, and Brian Lassiter.
