April 11, 2018 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.Born in Vance County on June 12, 1950, he was the son of the late Orlando Higgan Patton and Mildred Driver Patton, and was the widower of Shirley Lassiter Patton.He was employed with Variety Wholesalers, and attended Blessed Hope Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 2 pm at Blessed Hope Baptist Church by Dr. Donald A. Perkinson.
He is survived by one daughter, Renee Patton Adcock of Henderson; two grandsons, Douglas Adcock, Jr. and Dylan Adcock; two great grandchildren, Laiah Adcock and Tylon Kennedy; one sister, Tracy Edwards and niece, Taylor Nicole Edwards both of Lexington; sisters-in-law,
Melinda Lassiter, Debbie L. Alnakib, and Christy Lassiter; his brother-in-law, Guy Edwards; and his lifelong friend, Furman Pendergrass.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 until 2 pm at Blessed Hope Baptist Church.At other times they will be at his home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Blessed Hope Baptist Church, 741 Dabney Road, Henderson, NC27537.
