Clarksville, VA- Jerry Mack Percy, 78, of Walnut Grove Road, died Sunday, January 2, 2022 at his home. Born May 30, 1943 in Durham County, he was the son of the late Victor L. Percy, Sr. and Daisy Short Percy. He was a retired Captain with the City of Durham Fire Department. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time on Kerr Lake. He also was active in Shriner activities and loved cooking for his church family. Jerry was a member of Rock Spring Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 11:00 AM by Rev. Gary Brummitt. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the church cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Brenda Tilley Percy of the home; his son, Jeff Percy and wife, Bree of Wilton; his daughter, Wendy P. Appel and husband, Steve of Henderson; four grandchildren, Sean Appel, Adam Appel, Bernaldo Paz and Matthew Paz; and two sisters, Donna Percy and Eleanor Rigsbee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Willard Percy, Victor L. Percy, Jr. and Ralph Percy; and three sisters, Alice P. Green, Martha P. Boatwright and Olive P. Hilliard. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Rock Spring Baptist Church.
