Jewell Short Langley

Jewell Dean Short Langley, 75, of 2696 Hicksboro Road, died Monday, March 11, 2019 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham.Born on October 11, 1943 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde J. Short and Clara Dickerson Short.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 pm at Grace Baptist Church by the Rev. Calvin Mills.Burial will follow in the New Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, George David Langley of the home; one son, Ray Shearin and wife, Michelle of Henderson; one brother, Clyde "Bud" Short of Henderson; two grandchildren, Brandon Shearin and Haley Shearin; two step-daughters, Diana "Dee Dee" Smith and husband, Eric of Henderson, and Kathryn Overby of Louisburg; two step-sons, David Langley, Jr. and wife, Cindy of Henderson and Justin Langley of St. Petersburg, FL; and six step-grandchildren, Raven Wallace, Erica Smith, Ryan Steiger, Elaina Overby, Keira Overby and Shyanne Langley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 until 8 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Ray and Michelle Shearin, 2654 Hicksboro Road.
Serving as pallbearers will be members of the Vance County Sheriff's Department.
