James Ray "Jimmy" Franklin, 69, a resident of 229 Rock Mill Road, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the Durham VA Medical Center.Born on June 24, 1948 in VanceCounty, he was the son of the late James Elvis Franklin and Helen Gray Ayscue Franklin.
A memorial service will be held Thursday night at 7 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Will Breedlove.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Pernell Franklin of the home; two daughters, Cindy Kiger (Scott) of Wake Forest; and Susan Dillard (Steven) of Youngsville; one son, Jamie Franklin (Christi) of Raleigh; eight grandchildren, Hannah, Daniel, Nathan, Lauren, Nathan, Maddie, Cullen, and Jack; two sisters, Gale Perkinson and Kathy Faulkner of Henderson; two brothers,Wayne Franklin and Reggie Franklin of Henderson.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donnie Franklin.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 5:30 until 6:50 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 229 Rock Mill Road.
