James Melvin "Jimmy" Robertson, 69, a resident of 345 Southerland Mill Road, died Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Wake Med Hospital.Born on August 3, 1948 in Vance County, he was the son of the late William Edgar Robertson and Lillie Mae Wright Robertson.Jimmy was a retired Maintenance Supervisor at M. R. Williams, Inc.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 3 pm at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Wilbert Horton.
He is survived by his wife, Lenis Gail Kearney Robertson of the home; two daughters, Jamie Robertson of Henderson and Lindsey Pegram Overton (Mike) of Kittrell; one son, Donovan DesChamps of the home; two sisters, Mildred R. Hicks of Fayetteville and Jessie Mae Burnette of Henderson; one brother, William Edgar Robertson, Jr. of Henderson; and five grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Madison Robertson.
The family will receive friends Friday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Jessie Mae Burnette at 395 Southerland Mill Road.
