Joel Wilson Jenkins

Glade Spring, VA- Joel Wilson Jenkins, 84, of Washington Spring Road, died Monday, April 18, 2022 at Devine Family Care in Youngsville. Born April 4, 1938 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Bessie Ruth Friar Jenkins and Andrew Jackson Jenkins. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from the Air Force as a facility manager in the Minute Man Missile Program. He was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed travelling, especially his time spent in Montana “RV’ing. A memorial service with military honors will be held Thursday May 5th at 2:00 pm at the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jack Jenkins. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Belle Sadler Jenkins of the home; his son, Rev. Jack C. Jenkins and wife Gail, of Unicoi, TN; his daughter, Ginger Griffin of Hillsborough; five grandchildren, Joshua Jenkins, Andrew Jenkins, Cory Jenkins, Virginia Jenkins and Melissa Byers; and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 until 2 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home The family wishes to give special thanks to Cape Fear Hospice; Heartland Hospice; and Devine Family Care of Youngsville.
