John "Sonny" Ablonsky, Jr

CONWAY SC - John “Sonny” Ablonsky, Jr., a resident of Alcazar Court, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at the Conway Medical Center in Conway, South Carolina. Born November 14, 1947 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, he was the son of the late John Ablonsky, Sr. and Isabelle M. Balogh Ablonsky.

Sonny enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and he loved to play music, and played with bands such as The Flashback, The T Birds, Bill Haley’s Comets, The Konnection Band, The Big Kountry Band, and several other local bands.

A funerall service will be held Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Reverend Gary Harper.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia “Ginger” Fifield Ablonsky, of the home; one son, Christoper John Ablonsky (Karen) of Ocean Springs, MS; two grandchildren, Devin Ablonsky and Giavanna Ablonsky; one step-daughter, Colleen Papson (Dr. Scott Papson) of Severn, MD; one sister, Barbara Abbey (Ablonsky), of Hopelawn, NJ; Nephew, Dean Abbey (Renee), Neice, Heather Abbey, Neice, Amber Abbey, Niece, Hollie Fech a d Great Niece Arianna Abbey, and one brother, Michael Ablonsky of Galloway, NJ.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Nadine Ablonsky, and Nephew Shawn Fiure.

Family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home.
