PIEDMONT, SC-John Allen Hester, Sr., 75, a resident of Piedmont, South Carolina, died on Friday, August 23, 2019.Born in Vance County on March 13, 1944, he was the son of the late Furnie Green Hester, Jr. and Bessie Harris Hester.Johnny was a Veteran of the United States Navy.He was retired from Roadway Express and was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church in Piedmont, South Carolina.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Flat Rock United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. David Pate.
He is survived by one son, John Allen Hester, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Boerne, Texas; one brother, Ralph Thomas Hester and wife, Betty of Henderson; four grandchildren; and his daughter-in-law, Lori Hester of Oxford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Lee Hester; and one sister, Judith Virginia Hester.
The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall at Flat Rock United Methodist Church.
