John Felton Anderson

RALEIGH-John Felton Anderson, 81, a resident of Jupiter Street, died Friday, January 19, 2024 at UNC Hospital. Born on June 11, 1942 in Greenville County, SC, he was the son of the late Selsus Jackson Anderson and Ruth Groover Anderson. John was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Raleigh. He retired as Train Master from CSX Railroad where he began working after graduating from High School at age 17. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Cade Patterson. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens. He is survived by his wife, Pearlie Roberson Anderson of the home; one daughter, Karen A. Machak of Raleigh; two sons, Kenny Anderson (Laura) of Apex and Frankie Anderson (Debbie) of Youngsville; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister, Barbara A. Winstead of Henderson; and two brothers, James “Butch” Anderson of Henderson and Donald Anderson of Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends on Tuesday prior to the service from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Nick Machak, Austin Machak, Joshua Anderson, Carter Anderson, John Winstead, and Cody Winstead.
