John Allen Ayscue

HENDERSON- John Allen Ayscue, 93, of Southside Estates Court, died Monday, April 13, 2026 at his son’s home. Born March 20, 1933 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Kitty Lou Stevenson Ayscue and Ira Lee Ayscue and was the widower of Effie S. Ayscue. He was the owner and operator of John’s Backhoe Service. He enjoyed hunting, especially with his rabbit dogs. John attended Mt. Ararat Pentecostal Holiness Church where funeral services will be held Friday, April 17, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. by Pastor Billy Stevenson, Jr. and Rev. Allen Ayscue. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens Cemetery.

John is survived by his son, Rev. Allen Ayscue and wife, Deborah; his daughter-in-law, Judy Lassiter Ayscue; a brother, Jerry W. Ayscue, all of Henderson; four grandchildren, Stephen Allgood, Christopher Ayscue and wife, Sharon, Kristy Crowder and husband, Eugene, and Chad Ayscue; twelve great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, John Wayne Ayscue; a great granddaughter, Madison Ayscue; five brothers, Robert Ayscue, James Ayscue, Sr., Charles Ayscue, Sr., “J.B” Ayscue, and “D.W.” Ayscue; and two sisters, Mary Evans and Anne Satterwhite.

Serving as pallbearers will be Howard Faucette, Jr., Jonathan Stevenson, Clay Pegram, Jeff Wade, Dylan Allgood, Justin Crowder, Brandon Jones and Richard Jones.

The family will receive friends Thursday night at J.M. White Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. and at other times they will be at the home of Allen and Deborah Ayscue, 295 Southside Estates Court, Henderson, NC 27537.
