HENDERSON - John Richard Lowey, Sr., age 81, a resident of 323 Mindy Lane died Tuesday March 5, 2019 at Maria Parham Health. Born in Person County on April 3, 1937, he was the son of the late Rull Lee Lowery and Elma Sue Long Lowery.
Mr. Lowery was retired from Franklin Cotton Mill and Waste Industries. He attended Bethesa Baptist Church and the Salvation Army.
Funeral Services will be held Friday at 2 P.M. at J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Tim Short and Rev. Cleveland Harrison. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 12:30 P.M. to 2:00 P. M. at J. M. White Funeral Home and following the service at the Salvation Army on Alexander Ave, Henderson, NC 27536.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Annie Dickerson Lowery; two daughters, Lisa Bright (Jeff) and Tammy Grzelak (Jan) all of Louisburg; two sons, Mark Lowery of the home and John R. Lowery, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC; eight grandchildren, Steven Lowery (Vicki), Jennifer Voyles (William), John R. Lowery III, Christian Lowery, Evan Lowery, Kimberly Cox (Cody), Allison Bott (Thomas), and Mariah Lowery; and eight great grandchildren, Alyssa Lowery, Payton Lowery, Landon Lowery, Tristan Voyles, Madisyn Voyles, Brooklyn Voyles, Olivia Bott, and Joshua Cox.
Serving as active pallbearers are Evan Lowery, William Voyles, Kenny Dickerson, Steve Dickerson, Darryl Stiltner, and Danny Dickerson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be to help the family with funeral expenses. Please go to www.gofundme.com/JohnLowerySR
