John Allison Rogers

January 4, 1931 — June 17, 2026

Kittrell

KITTRELL-John Allison Rogers, 95, of Kittrell, North Carolina, passed peacefully into his heavenly home on June 17, 2026.

Born and raised in Kittrell, John was the son of the late Willis and Dolly Rogers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wives, Jeanette Fuller Rogers, his wife of 54 years, and Patricia Rowland Rogers, his wife of 11 years. While his passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, his family finds comfort in knowing he has been reunited in Heaven with Jeanette, Patricia, and loved ones who preceded him in death.

John was a lifelong farmer whose roots ran deep in the Kittrell community. He dedicated his life to working the land, serving his church, and caring for his family. A man of unwavering faith, he was a devoted member of Plank Chapel United Methodist Church, where he was especially active in the Methodist Men. Through his faithful service, he became a pillar of both the church and the community he loved.

Above all else, John was a family man. His children were the pride and joy of his life, and nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with them and watching his family grow through the generations. He is survived by his children: Cliff Rogers  Stephanie), Ann Freeman (Gary), Ellen Allen (Ben), Sue Smith (Darden), Carol Monahan (John), and stepson Greg Hunt. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amelia Sholar (Adam), Lydia Frye (Charlie), Meredith Judd (Kevin), Claire Faulkner (Daniel), Hampton Smith (Abby), Roger Smith, John Allen, Josh Monahan (Mary- Haven), and Jacey Murphy (Maxx). He also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart and brought him immense joy.

John never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time with friends, sharing stories, and reminiscing about the good old days. His warm smile and gift for storytelling made him a beloved friend and companion to many throughout the years.

John and his first wife, Jeanette, shared a love of travel and spent many happy years exploring destinations across the country and around the world. Together, they also enjoyed collecting carnival glass and antiques, creating a treasured collection that reflected their shared interests and adventures. Yet despite their worldly travels, some of their happiest moments were spent much closer to home at their family lake house at White Lake, North Carolina. There, John and Jeanette created countless memories with their children and grandchildren, spending long summer days watching them swim, boat, laugh, and enjoy time together on the water. Those gatherings brought John such joy and became some of his most treasured family memories.

John lived a life rooted in faith, hard work, kindness, and devotion to family. His legacy lives on through the generations he helped shape, the community he helped build, and the countless lives he touched throughout his 95 years.

A celebration of John’s life will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 2:00pm at Plank Chapel United Methodist Church at 3047 Bobbitt Road in Kittrell, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:00 pm in the Plank Chapel Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Plank Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 507, Kittrell, NC 27544.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who provided care, friendship, and support to John throughout his life. Though he will be deeply missed, John’s family finds comfort in the many memories he leaves behind and in the lasting example of a life well lived.
