John Edward Walker

John Edward Walker, age 60, a resident of 11015 NC Hwy. 39 N, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at his home.Born in Vance County on July 17, 1950 he was the son of the late Charlie William Walker, Sr. and Frankie Riggan Walker.
John was a retired truck driver and was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Tabernacle United Methodist Church by the Rev. Mark Clark and the Rev. John Yount.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by two daughters Beth Walker and Amanda Walker both of Henderson; one sister, Betty W. Hester of Henderson; and one brother, Cliff Walker of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Walker.
The family will receive friends at the home of Cliff Walker at 9736 NC 39 Hwy. N. and following the service on Thursday in the fellowship hall at Tabernacle United Methodist Church.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Thomas Hester, Michael Reams, Sidney Moody, Chuck Tillotson, J. T. Smith, Pat Reese, Ed Wrenn, and Randy Riggan.
