John W. Davidson went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, January 31st.Born September 28, 1933 in Wake Forest, NC, he was the son of the late Berlin B.T. Wilson and Clara Pearce Wilson. John was a Veteran of the United States Army, and was a retired Purchasing Manager at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, DC.He moved to Townsville in 1993 and enjoyed retirement on beautiful Kerr Lake.He was a member of Rock Spring Baptist Church where he was a member of the Baptist Men.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Rock Spring Baptist Church by the Rev. Gary Brummitt.Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Merle Fish Davidson; two step-children, Harry Ludeman (Barbara) of Gainesville, V; Susan Jane Zarzar (Nick) of Hillsborough, NC; and five grandchildren, Matthew Ludeman, Emily Ludeman, Nate Zarzar, and Camille Zarzar, and Elizabeth Zarzar.He is also survived by four sisters, Grace Patterson of Epsom, Marie Wright (Renchor) of Franklinton, Mary Carter (Phil) of Wake Forest; and Vickie Carrol (Dwight) of Raleigh; and Merles brother, Don Fish (Alice) of Raleigh, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 until 11:00 at the Rock Spring Baptist Church fellowship.
Serving as pallbearers will be Harry Ludeman, Matthew Ludeman, Nick Zarzar, Nate Zarzar, Ronnie Haigler, and Joe Seagroves. Honorary pallbearers will be the Rock Spring Baptist Church Baptist Men.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful doctors and nurses at Maria Parham Hospital, as well as the staff at Senior Citizens Home. Thank you to the church family at Rock Spring Baptist Church and the wonderful neighbors and friends for their generous hospitality and friendship.
Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to MMIA, Military Missions in Action at 411-B North Judd Parkway, Fuquay Varina, NC 27526 in memory of John Davidson.
