Johnnie Mack Tatum, age 69, a resident of 285 Red Head Lane, died Monday, August 1, 2016, at his home.Born in Vance County on May 16, 1947, he was the son of the late Harry James Tatum and Dorothy Baker Tatum.Johnnie was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam.He was retired from Laurens Glass Company and attended Freedom Life Church of God.
Memorial services with Military Honors will be held Thursday at 2 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jeff Prewer.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Grissom Tatum of the home; one daughter, KatherineHope Stevenson of Henderson; one son, Jason Mark Tatum of Greenville; two sisters, Judy Hanes of Mt. Airy, and Garnett Wood of Henderson; one brother, Ernest Tatum of Ashville; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1 until 2 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Freedom Life Church of God, 1001 Martin Creek Road, Henderson, NC27537.
