Jose M. Peralta

Jose Miguel Grave de Peralta, age 89, a resident of 65 Pine View Road, died Friday July 18, 2014 at his home.Born in Holguin, Cuba on May 8, 1925, he was the son of the late Candido S. Grave de Peralta and Luz Sofia Gomez Grave de Peralta.He was a retired teacher having taught high school in Vance County, as well as courses at Vance Granville Community College and the University of Valencia in Spain.He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and Opus Dei.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, July 24th at 4 PM at St. James Catholic Church by Father John Gillespie.
He is survived by a daughter, Ana P. Cobb of Raleigh; four sons, Carlos E. Grave de Peralta of San Diego, CA, Raul J. Grave de Peralta of Trinity, Jose M. Grave de Peralta, Jr. of Thomasville, GA and Jesus I. Grave de Peralta of Henderson; fourteengrandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister, Berta Grave de Peralta Dovale of Fort Lauderdale, FL.
The family will receive friends following the service at St. James Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979.
The family would like to thank Dr. Franklin Mills and his hospice nurses, Cara and Jamie for the loving and compassionate care given to Jose.
