HENDERSON-Joseph Earl Penny, 76, a resident of 118 Southern Ave, died Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Maria Parham Health.Born in Wake County on June 11, 1941, he was the son of the late Ruben Penny and Carrie-Lee Stanley Penny.Earl was retired from Novo Nordisk where he was a supervisor.
He was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church where funeral services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 2:00pm by Rev. Frank Sosssamon.Entombment will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred V. Penny of the home; his son, Randy Penny of Henderson; his step-son, Timothy Viverette of Durham; two sisters, Geral P. Pergerson and Jerry P. Loving both of Henderson; his brother, Larry Penny of Smithfield; seven grandchildren, Nikki Ward, Courtney Perkinson, Timothy Jamar Viverette, Dimitri Viverette, Morgan Penny, Joseph Penny and Simone Viverette.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy P. Eason and a brother, James Rubin J.R. Penny.
The family will receive friends Friday before the service from 12:30 PM till 2:00 PM at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dimitri Viverette, Timothy Jamar Viverette, Jr., Joseph Penny. Jay Lovings. Justin Ward and Rick Hedman.
