Joseph Hedgepeth

Joseph Daniel "JD" Hedgepeth, age 84, a resident of 405 Parham Road, died Wednesday October 12, 2011 at his home. Born on August 11, 1927 in Vance Co., he was the son of the late Percy Harvey Hedgepeth and Lillie Allred Hedgepeth Dodd.
Mr. Hedgepeth was the Owner and Operator of Armstrong Tree Service, and was also retired from Hayes T.V.He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving in WW II.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3:00 PM at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Henderson by Rev. Donald Lowery and Rev. Pam Gilliam.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann Roberson Hedgepeth; one daughter Charlotte Faye Hedgepeth of Henderson; one grandson Daniel Woodlief; and a special nephew whom he considered a grandson, Jeremy Tucker.He is also survived by two nieces, Lisa Tucker Galantis and Bonnie Tucker Gilson; two great-nieces, Amanda Johnson Rhodes and Kaitlin Galantis; and a great-nephew, John C. Galantis.He was preceded in death by a sister, Donnie H. Tucker; a half-sister, Sylvia Carothers; and three brothers, P.L. Hedgepeth, Grover Hedgepeth and James Hedgepeth.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall of St. Johns Episcopal Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns Episcopal Church c/o Pat McCaskill, PO Box 947 Henderson NC, 27536.
