Joseph "Joe" Wyart Allen

Mr. Joseph Wyart Joe Allen, age 84, a resident of 902 Roanoke Avenue, died Monday, January 30, 2012 at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born in Skippers, Virginia on January 27, 1928, he was the son of the late Arsee Allen and Virginia Moore Allen.Mr. Allen was a member of Fountain Creek Baptist Church in Skippers, VA and the former owner and operator of Allens Appliance Service.He was a United States Army Veteran, having served in World War II.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Sunset Gardens by Reverend Ralph McGowen.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Earlene King Allen of the home; two daughters, Trudy Lowry of Kittrell and Joette Allen of Henderson; a brother George Allen and wife, Betty of Franklin, Virginia; two grandchildren, Tracy L. Ayscue and husband, J.J.; Jessie J.R. Lowry, Jr.; and two great grandchildren, Megan Ayscue and Dawson Ayscue.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday following the service at Sunset Gardens at other times they will be at the home, 902 Roanoke Avenue, Henderson.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to West End Baptist Church, 619 Dabney Drive, Henderson, 27536.
