She was retired from Vance County Schools and was a bus driver for E. O. Young Elementary School and also worked in the cafeteria at Northern Vance High School.Josephine attended Mt. Auburn United Church Of Christ.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 200 PM at Mt. Auburn United Church of Christ by the Rev. Gary Bateman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Chester Balltzglier of the home; two daughters, Cynthia Roberson Bowen and husband, Wesley, and Amy Norwood Williamson and husband, Dennis of Henderson; one son, Kenneth Michael Norwood and wife, Breidi of Manson; four grandchildren, Ashley Parrish and husband, Daniel, Layden Bowden and fiancee, Brooke Roberson, Lydia Eller and husband, John, and Torre Caparatta; two great grandchildren, Nolan Parrish and Adelyn Paige; one sister, Elaine B. Mitchell of Manson; one brother, T. P. Ball and wife, Debbie of Henderson; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Stanley C. Norwood, Jr., and her brother-in-law, Bobby Mitchell.
The family will receive friends Saturday night from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 118 Spring Valley Drive.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Dennis Wilder, Tommy Abbott, Floyd Snyder, Jimmy Fletcher, Jeff Watson, and Tyler Pierce.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 914, Henderson, NC27536.
