Josephine Vaughan Harp, 86, a resident of 1945 Stewart Farm Road, diedMonday, February 20. 2017 at her home.Born in Warren County on June 7, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Stover Willis Vaughan and Ella Gupton Vaughan.She was retired from Peck Manufacturing Company and was a member of Warrenton Church of God.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 3pm at Warrenton Church of God by the Rev. Gary Bateman and the Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda H. Ellington (Wayne) and Kathy H. Williford of Henderson; two sons, Alton E. Harp, Jr. (Suzanne) of Wake Forest and Ralph P. Harp (Colleen) of Willis Texas; one sister, Hallie Vaughan Wheeler of Creedmoore; one step sister, Betty C. Rooker of Henderson; six grandchildren, John Harp, Daniel Harp, Stephen Harp, Stephanie Harp, Justin Williford, and Keith Ellington; six great grandchildren, Connor Harp, Alexis Harp, Bryce Harp, Clark Harp, Gwendolyn Harp, Elliot Harp; one special niece, Kimberly Bateman; one special great niece, Annika Bateman; seven step grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; one great great step grandson; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Edward Harp, Sr.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at her home on Stewart Farm Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Keith Ellington, Stephen Harp, John Harp, Daniel Harp, Larry Wheeler, David Vaughan, Ricky Bolton, and Leslie Wells.
