Josephine Lassiter Langley

HENDERSON- Josephine Wheeler Lassiter Langley, 94, of Breland Lane, died Saturday, June 13, 2026 at her home. Born June 7, 1932 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Josie Grissom Lassiter and Melville Lassiter and was the widow of Thomas Leon Langley. Josephine retired from Revlon and was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at Blessed Hope Baptist Church by Dr. Donnie Perkinson. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens.

Josephine is survived by a son, Tommy Langley; two daughters, Kim Pegram and husband, Shawn and Nicole Brooks and husband, John, all of Henderson; four grandchildren, Christopher Pegram and wife, Adrienne, Tyler Pegram and wife, Amber, Joshua Langley and Johnathan Brooks; three great-grandchildren, Jackson Pegram, Leighton Pegram and Josie Pegram; and a brother, Melville Lassiter, Jr. and wife, Judy of Henderson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Nick Langley; two sisters, Elizabeth Perkinson and Virgie Faulkner; and two brothers, Eugene Lassiter and James Lassiter.

Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Pegram, Tyler Pegram, Joshua Langley, Johnathan Brooks, Shawn Pegram and Daryl Evans.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday prior to the service beginning at 12:00 P.M. at Blessed Hope Baptist Church; and at other times at the home of Kim and Shawn Pegram, 89 Christopher Tyler Lane, Henderson, NC 27537.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Blessed Hope Baptist Church, 741 Dabney Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
