Joyce Bobbitt Carpunky

CLARKSVILLE-VA.- Joyce Bobbitt Carpunky, 65, a resident of 40 Jaber Road, died Saturday, June 23, 2018, at her home.Born in Vance County on March 16, 1953, she was the daughter of Joyce Meekins Bobbitt of Henderson and the late Malcom J. Bobbitt.
Joyce was retired from the Accounting Dept. at Burroughs Welcome in RTP.She was a member of Middleburg Baptist Church, the Vance County Rescue Auxiliary and was the Senior Womens Regency for the Henderson Moose Lodge.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 am at Middleburg Baptist Church by Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in the Middleburg Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Lit Carpunky (Erin) of Wake Forest, and Doyle Carpunky (Jill) of Henderson; seven grandchildren, Lauren Grace Carpunky, James Tyler Carpunky, Joseph Doyle Carpunky, Jr., Ashley Young, Tristan Payton, Carly Payton, and Courtney Elliott; one brother, Malcom J. Bobbitt, Jr. (Betty); one sister, Mollie B. Scerbo (Bernie) all of Middleburg; and a special friend, H. B. Pierce, Jr. of Clarksville, Virginia.In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy B. Ormond.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home .At other times they will be at the home of Doyle and Jill Carpunky.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Jerry "J. B." Barbour. Barry "B.B." Barbour, Fred "Beanie" Fogg, Darren "Squirrel" Small, Allen Fisher, and H. B. Pierce, III
Serving as honorary pall bearers will be all members of the Vance Co. Rescue Squad and the Vance Co. Fire and EMS.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vance Co.Rescue Squad, PO Box 402, Henderson, NC27536.
