TOWNSVILLE-Joyce Joanne Cloer Compton, age 69, a resident of 3185 Tungsten Mine Road, left this world to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born on June 18, 1944 in Bryson City, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Cloer and Violet Joyce Thomas Parrish.
She was medically retired from Pacific Coast Feathers and was a member of Tungsten Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 am at Tungsten Baptist Church by the Rev. Sam Brewer.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Joyce is survived by her long-time companionHarold Brame; and was the proud mother of her three sons, Mack Compton and wife, Sandra of California, Dwayne Compton and wife, Beth of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Jesse Compton and wife, Donna of Missouri; her eight grandchildren, Casey, Lacey, Lindsey, Joshua, Lily, Brandon, Brett, and Brandi; one great grand child, Braxton; and her many friends.She was preceded in death by her childrens father, Howard Compton.
The family will receive friends on Thursday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 3185 Tungsten Mine Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Josh Compton, Raymond Harrison, Jerry Reaves, Jackie Overby, Bruce Crews, and Todd Adcock.
