DURHAM-Joyce Cleo Owens Harris, age 83, a resident of Peak Resources Treyburn and a former resident of Henderson, died Saturday, April 2, 2016.Born in Wake County on July 10, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Sam W. Owens and Elizabeth Beddingfield Owens and was the widow of Joseph E. Harris.
Joyce was a member of Poplar Creek Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Tony Evans.
She is survived by one son Randy S. Harris (Alyson) of Epsom; her daughter-in-law, Debra Harris of Bahama; one brother, Victor F. Owens of Kansas; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael E. Harris and Donald G. Harris; one sister, Alice O. Morris; and three brothers, Sam R. Owens, Thomas R. Owens, and Franklin D. Owens.
The family will receive friends following the service at Sunset Gardens.
