Born in Vance County on February 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Jones David Lee and Ola George Lee, and was the widow of Hank Spain.
Mrs. Spain was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, and was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. 2nd Timothy Chapter 4: Verse 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. She was a retired employee of Roses Distribution Center; and a former employee of American Corp.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church by Dr. Gene Wood and Pastor Marvin West.Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter, Shelia A. Finch (Crawford); two sons, Trenton Wade Abbott, Sr. (Carol) and John Lennie Abbott, Jr. all ofHenderson; two sisters, Carolyn Lee and Brenda West; seven grandchildren, Jackie Ellington, Jr., Donna Parrish (Chuck) Wade Abbott (Melinda) Tara Norwood (Kevin), Lance Abbott, Dustin Abbott, and Hunter Abbott; twelve great grandchildren, Kristi, Paige, Heather, Bryant, Bryce, Seth, Charli, Dylan, Isis, Rilynne, Autumn, and Logan; four great great grandchildren, Ivan, Madison, Colton, and Jase.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Ray Harp; sister, Marion Loyd; and a brother, Jones David Lee, Jr.
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 7, 2015, from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 2746 Vicksboro Road.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Jackie Ellington, Jr., Bryant Parrish, Wade Abbott, Dustin Abbott, Lance Abbott, and Hunter Abbott.Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Pulley, Billy Overton, Charles Ayscue, and Ernest McFarland.
