Juanita Short Dickerson, 79, a resident of Old County Home Road, died Friday, April 15, 2022, at Maria Parham Health. Born on February 11, 1943 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late William Albert Short and Daisy Belle Robertson Short, and was the widow of Tommy Wayne Dickerson. She was formerly employed as the Activity Director at Senior Citizens Nursing Home and also worked at the Henderson Family YMCA. Juanita was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Mark Richardson. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens. She is survived by two sons, Billy Dickerson (Brenda) and Scott Dickerson (Nikki) of Henderson; eight grandchildren, T. J. Tuck (Shauna), Kodi Dickerson (Tiffany), Logan Hamlin (Hannah), Kristen Parker (Dustin), Montana Medlin, Trey Dickerson, Jae Dickerson, and Bug Dickerson; four great grandchildren, Daniel, L.J., Colby Jay, and Lucah; one sister, Jean Roberts (J.D.) of Henderson; two brothers, Phillip Short (Cathy) of Henderson and Nelson Short of Oxford; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Clara Pillow; two brothers, Horace Short and Norman Short; and one grandson-in-law, Drew Medlin. The family will receive friends Monday night from 5:30 until 7:00 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home. Serving as Pallbearers will be, Dustin Parker, Christopher Short, Daniel Wieninger, Andy Short, Randy Pittillo, and Brian Choplin.
