Julius Otha "Slick" Godwin, Jr., age 92, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016, in a local nursing home.Born in Wake County on March 23, 1923, he was the son of the late Julius Otha Godwin, Sr. and Lelia Williams Godwin.Mr. Godwin was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II.He was a retired Sales Manager of Thompson, Cadillac, Oldsmobile and was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church in Raleigh.
A private graveside service will be held at Montlawn Cemetery in Raleigh.
He is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Grace "Kathy" Caudle and husband, Woody of Henderson; two grandsons, David W. Caudle, Jr. of Wilson and Trey Caudle and wife, Brooke of Raleigh; and two great grandchildren, Elijah Caudle and Amelia Grace Caudle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Vaughan Godwin.
