HENDERSON- Mrs. Katherine Dickerson Moss, age 90, passed away Tuesday July 22, 2014 at her home.Born in Granville County on July 12, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Ernest Albert Dickerson and Florence Bradford Dickerson and the widow of Albert Ernest Moss.She was a charter member of Raleigh Road Baptist Church where she served as Church Clerk, Sunday School Teacher, Deaconess and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Woodland Garden Club of which she was a past president, a former volunteer at Maria Parham Medical Center and a Red Cross Volunteer.Mrs. Moss retired after 31 years from Duke Energy (formerly Carolina Power and Light).
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 pm at Raleigh Road Baptist Church.Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens.
Mrs. Moss is survived by two sons, Dr. Ron Moss (Karen) of Raleigh and Steve Moss (Karen) of Henderson; four grandsons, Ronnie, David, Timothy and Andrew; and three great-grandsons, Conner, Ian and Colt.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Wayland R. Dickerson, Ernest Ray Dickerson, and Ralph M. Dickerson; and one half brother, Herman D. Dickerson.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 pm till 2:00 pm at Raleigh Road Baptist Church.
Serving as pall bearers will be Tommie Pernell, Alan Rowland, Lennie Swanson, Steve Liles, James Ayscue, Charles Grissom, Mike Roberson, William Harris.
