Kathleen Rainey Edwards

HENDERSON-Kathleen Rainey Kitty Edwards, age 83, a resident of 1837 Edwards Road, died Monday, April 2, 2012, at the home of her daughter.Born in Vance County on August 8, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Rainey and Ethel Payne Rainey.Mrs. Rainey was a former employee of H. & R Block and the former Leggetts Department Store. She was a member of Fuller Chapel United Church Of Christ, the Bible Class, and served on the cemetery committee.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at Fuller Chapel United Church Of Christ by the Rev. Tammy Ayscue.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna E. Hawkins and Darleen Edwards both of Kittrell; one son, David M. Edwards, Sr. of Kittrell; one sister, Peggy R. Mangum of Richmond; two brothers,
Herbert Buster Rainey, Jr. and Joe Rainey both of Henderson; five grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Plummer Edwards, Jr.; and one son, Dennis H. Edwards.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Donna and Johnnie Hawkins at 6048 Raleigh Road, Kittrell.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Mac Wilson, Herbie Grissom, Mike Faulkner, Allen Stone, Jimmy Bridges, and Adrian Brame.
Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home.
