HENDERSON-Ken Thomas "Tommy" Patterson, 77, a resident of 88 Patterson Lane, died Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Duke Raleigh Hospital.Born on February 21, 1943 in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Nathan T. Patterson and Golden Abbott Patterson, and was the widower of Shelva Weaver Patterson.Tommy was a graduate of Aycock High School and attended New Sandy Creek Baptist Church.He was formerly employed with Carolina Telephone Company and currently employed at Variety Wholesalers where he was Manager of Tele Communications.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 2pm at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Tim Burgess.
He is survived by one daughter, Kathy P. Parrish (Todd) of Henderson; one son, Ken T. Patterson, Jr. (Jeanette) of Henderson; six grandchildren, Christie McDaniel, Heather Coker (Bryant), Kinzey Patterson, Zane Patterson (Mackenzie), Joseph Parrish, Jr., and Josh Parrish; three great grandchildren, William Joslin, Harley Jo Stainback, and Jase Coker; two sisters, Joan Williamson (Earl) and Shirley Perkinson (Darrell) all of Henderson; and one brother, Alton Patterson (Carolyn) of Henderson.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Cora Lee Hilliard, Betty Jean Pegram, and Deborah Williamson.
The family will receive friends at the home, 88 Patterson Lane, Henderson, NC 27537.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons and great grandsons, Zane, Joseph, Josh, Will and Jase.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to New Sandy Creek Baptist Church, Audio-Visual Fund, 1699 Weldon's Mill Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
Attendees at the service are asked to wear an appropriate face covering and practice social distancing.
