King Edward Adcox, age 78, a resident of 645 Alice Faye Lane in Henderson died Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born in Vance County on April 4, 1937 he was the son of the late James Rhoby Adcox and Gillie Parrish Adcox.He was retired from Weeks Construction Company where he worked as a lineman.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 PM at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church conducted by Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Jackson Adcox of the home; two daughters, Lisa A. Edwards of Henderson and Lee A. Thompson of Macon; two sons, King E. Boy Boy Adcox, II of Youngsville and Joseph D. Adcox of Henderson; a sister, Dorothy Horton of Henderson; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Mr. Adcox was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Ann Adcox; a sister, Geraldine Currin; six brothers, Crip Adcox, Buddy Adcox, Cotton Adcox, Milton Adcox, Joe Adcox, and Ronnie Adcox.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jackson Ellis, John DeSimone, Mike Adcox, Mark Adcox, Steve Adcox and Charles Adcox.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00PM till 8:30PM at J.M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of Dorothy A. Horton, 744 Old Warrenton Road, Henderson, NC27537.
