HENDERSON-Kouy Keolatvanh, 76, of Henderson, passed away February 19, 2015 peacefully in his home.Kouy was born in Phonthong, Champasak, Laos on January 1, 1939.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, King; his three sons, Saythong, Khamsing, and Bouathonr; and his four daughters, Vilay, Nark, Vae, and Khanty.
Kouy served in the Laos Army during the Vietnam War for 8 years, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant.During his service, he became a prisoner of war.He was able to overcome many adversities in his life through his strength, compassion, and love of country and family.Even after moving his family to the United States in 1987, Kouy was a part of many political action groups to fight for what he believed in.Without a doubt his passion radiated through him.
In true Laos tradition, his family and friends will host a celebration of life leading up to his funeral on February 22, 2015.The funeral service is held at J. M. White Funeral Service at 1 pm.
