Laurie Nelson Woods

Laurie Gaye Nelson Woods, 69, of Vicksboro Road, died Monday, October 9, 2023 at Maria Parham Health. Born March 30, 1954 in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joan Pope Nelson and Harold Nelson and was the widow of Willie Lewis Daniels. She was a private care CNA. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. She is survived by two daughters, Terrel Gorham (Roderick) of Raleigh and Lywanna Woods of Charlotte; and a son, Kwand Woods of Iowa; three grandchildren, Quinton Woods, Savannah Woods and Tarell Gorham; and one great- granddaughter, London; a brother, Michael Nelson of New York; and two sisters, Sharon P. Marion of MO and Sherrill Castro of CA. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Nelson.
