Lawrence Cecil Roberson, Sr. age 77, a resident of 489 West Hills Drive, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Maria Parham Hospital.Born in Vance County on December 23, 1934, he was the son of the late Johnnie Lawrence Roberson and Leolar Cannady Roberson. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean War.Roberson was a former manager with Burroughs Wellcome, Inc.He was also a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church and was active in their Sunday School.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in the J.M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Davis Roberson of the home; two sons, Lawrence Cecil Roberson, Jr. of Raleigh and Gregory Davis Lassiter of Knoxville, TN; a sister, Edna R. Nunnery of Henderson; and two nephews, Glenn and Keith Nunnery of Henderson.
The family will receive friends before and after the service at the home, 489 West Hills Drive.
Serving as pall bearers will be Wilbur Boyd, Jason Boyd, Peyton Boyd, Todd Hock, Ralph Newton, and Sherman Wilson.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund, 905 Americal Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
