HENDERSON-Lawrence Clifton Twisdale, Sr., age 86, a resident of 1551 Oakdale Circle, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at his home.Born in Mecklenburg Co., Virginia, he was the son of the late James Coleman Twisdale andRose Lambert Twisdale.Lawrence was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. He was retired from Vance Construction Company and was a member of the former Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Marshall Neathery.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah West Twisdale of the home; two daughters, Annette T. Munn and Tammy T. Bliss of Henderson; two sons, James Douglas Twisdale of Oxford and Lawrence Clifton Twisdale, Jr. of Raleigh; one brother, Stanley L. Twisdale of Bullock; and eight grandchildren, Jessica Twisdale, Christopher Munn, Ashley Faulkner, Laura Twisdale, Justin Munn, Dylan Bowen, Jacob Bliss, and Allie Rose Bliss.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Coleman Twisdale and Billy Twisdale.
The family will receive friends at the home of Wade and Tammy Bliss, 1812 Lynne Avenue.
