HENDERSON- Lena Johnson Hogge, age 74, a resident of 425 Willowood Dr., died Thursday, February 06, 2014.Born on January 4, 1940 in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Ekie Bud Johnson and Mabel Barnes Johnson.Mrs. Hogge was a Vice President with Bank of America in Henderson.She was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church where she was active in WMU and taught the former Shanks OBrien Woody Sunday School Class, and Bible School.She was also a former member of the Henderson Kiwanis Club and Woodland Garden Club.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 10:30 AM at Island Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Marshall Neathery and Rev. Frank Sossamon.A graveside service will follow at 2 pm at Pine Crest Memorial Park in Clayton.
Mrs. Hogge is survived by her husband, Donnie Ray Hogge of the home; a son, Larry Hogge and wife Wendy of Henderson; and two grandchildren, Jordan Hogge and Emma Hogge.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas Johnson, Stuart Johnson, and Fred Johnson.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 PM till 8:30PM at J.M. White Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home.
Serving as pall bearers will be Douglas Capps, Ralph Ellington, Graham Shearin, Chubby Thompson, John Rice and Ted Bowen.
